Pipefitters Local 537 Endorses Congressman Stephen Lynch
Boston, MA - April 23, 2010
Pipefitters Local 537 C.O.P.E committee recently notified Congressman Stephen Lynch that they had unanimously endorsed his candidacy for re-election to Congress representing the 9th Congressional District and "proudly place you in the "Special Friend" of Pipefitters Local 537 category".
As a former Ironworker, Congressman Lynch was extremely grateful to have the support of his fellow tradesmen and women. With over 2,600 members, Pipefitters Local 537 has worked on projects raging from the Deer Island Water Treatment Plant to great educational institutions such as Harvard University.
Throughout his career in public service, Congressman Lynch has been a strong supporter of labor and working families. When he came to Congress, he discovered a caucus for nearly every group - but none for workers and their issues. He got together with two other members of Congress with labor backgrounds and together they co-founded the Congressional Labor and Working Families Caucus, which he co-chairs. It now includes 87 members of Congress. He is a strong believer that all workers have the right to a safe workplace and a wage that will allow them to provide for themselves and their families.
"I am honored to have the support and confidence of the men and women of Pipefitters Local 537" Lynch said. "They have always been a strong source of support and encouragement for my work in Congress."
